For students in grades: 9-11 at the time of auditions
Timeline: Audition each year in February; if selected, students participate in summer practice for the final concert in October
Eau Claire Jazz Fest
Students in Jazz Band may be able to participate in Eau Claire Jazz Fest. Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. is a non-profit, 501c3 organization. The organization was formed in 2009 to partner with the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire to continue and expand the dynamic history of the Eau Claire Jazz Festival. The mission of Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. is to support, promote, and perpetuate the worldwide cultural experience of jazz. They provide vibrant and authentic jazz experiences, inspiring audiences to build life-long appreciations for jazz music.
Shell Lake Music Camps
Located in beautiful northwestern Wisconsin, only a short hour and fifteen minutes north of Eau Claire or two hours east of Minneapolis, the Shell Lake Arts Center in Shell Lake provides a premium arts camp and workshop learning experience for all students. Our programs and staff are well-respected nationally with some of the longest-running programs of their kind in the United States. With over 50 years of experience, the Arts Center provides a positive, safe and secure learning environment for students to further develop and explore their talents.
Spring Break Band Trips
In addition to local and regional opportunities, the band normally takes a trip over spring break every other year. Watch for more updates and opportunities in the future!
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
Students may choose to audition to march with Macy’s Great American Marching Band during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! (Please talk with the directors each year before sending in your audition.)
