Band Parent Organization
Welcome to all band parents! As we come off the heels of an unprecedented spring, with some uncertainties about this upcoming school year, I am so grateful for the MHS Band Program. Growing up as a daughter of a high school band director, I am very familiar with the care and dedication needed to lead an amazing program. This is evidenced at MHS. Through the hard work of our directors and students, regardless of what this year may bring, I am excited to see the opportunities that will be available and the growth that will occur.
The mission of the Band Parent Organization is to provide financial assistance and support services to the band program. Our goal is to aid in the development of student interest in music, to support the music curriculum and activities, and to promote student leadership and responsibility. The money we raise goes to support the band program through purchasing instruments and equipment, hiring clinicians, offering scholarships, as well as helping with other needs that may arise.
Our organization is most successful when we have the support of volunteers. Your time and talents are invaluable in making our fundraisers successful and supporting the directors to allow them the time needed to focus on our students. There are a variety of ways to volunteer, whether directly as an usher, behind the scenes assisting in the planning of events, or donating an item for a fundraiser. You can also take a position on the Band Parent Board. Volunteering is a great way to meet people and stay in-the know about all the happenings in the band program. We welcome and can use all the help you have to offer!

Board and Committee Openings
The Band Parent Organization needs YOU. As a group, we provide crucial financial assistance and support services to benefit all of the bands at Memorial High School. We have a fifteen-member board, as well as other committee chairs. Please, consider taking on a role!
The following is a preliminary list of board positions and committee chair openings for the 2020-21 school year. Many of these positions are ongoing, so there is information provided make a smooth transition. All of them receive support from the other board members, volunteers, and band directors. And, we use Sign Up Genius to recruit volunteers, so no phone calling is necessary!
Coordinates ushers for each concert. Ushers pass out programs and pass the hat (Indoor Marching Concert) or collect pink sheets (February concert) as needed.
POPS Concert Co-Chair
Works with other co-chairs to coordinate the serving of pie and beverages at the last big concert of the year. The POPS Concert is held in early May and is a celebration of the year with all bands at Memorial. This concert is an opportunity to recognize and say farewell to our great seniors.
Concessions Co-Chair (Freshman or Sophomore Parent)
Be our Concessions Apprentice and learn the ropes from a Senior Parent!
Communicates with City of Eau Claire, coordinates footballs concession volunteers and coordinates Tailgate Party the evening of Indoor Marching Concert. We do not work the concession stand for any playoff games. This is an Athletic Booster responsibility.
